Australian specialist ETF provider BetaShares today announced the inclusion of five of its exchange traded products on the Praemium SMA platform, providing advisers with exposure to domestic equities strategies, currencies and commodities.

Alex Vynokur, Managing Director of BetaShares, said the inclusion of the funds was a testament to the continued development and growth of the BetaShares business.

“BetaShares is proud of the unique investment solutions we provide our clients in a rapidly growing Australian ETF market, which has now grown to $8.7 billion as of the end of August,” Mr Vynokur said. BetaShares funds under management have grown to over $850m at present.

“Being recognised by Praemium’s independent investment committee for the value that we can provide for their adviser clients is pleasing. Our inclusion on the platform is a great example of the growing acceptance of exchange traded products in adviser practices,” Mr Vynokur said.

One of the most innovative and successful products which is now available on the platform is the BetaShares Australian High Interest Cash ETF (ASX Code: AAA), which attracted the most inflows of all ETFs in 2012. The ETF invests in at-call bank deposits and provides regular monthly income distributions, with an historical after fee-return of approximately 95bps above the RBA cash rate.

“The High Interest Cash ETF is very popular amongst advisers looking to improve returns on client’s cash holdings. Many clients are receiving rates at or around the RBA rate for cash balances and advisers are now able to potentially provide clients with more competitive returns on cash through this ETF which can be bought and sold like any share on the ASX,” he said.

The five BetaShares funds now available on Praemium’s SMA platform are:

BetaShares FTSE RAFI Australia 200 ETF (QOZ)

BetaShares US Dollar ETF (USD)

BetaShares Gold Bullion ETF (QAU)

BetaShares Australian High Interest Cash ETF (AAA)

BetaShares Australian Top 20 Equity Yield Maximiser Fund (managed fund) (YMAX)
