Hobart-based Main Street Financial Solutions will join Fitzpatricks Private Wealth following an extensive search and due diligence process.

Main Street principals Charles Badenach and Rebecca Fergusson founded their boutique professional practice on the core value of delivering professional, non-aligned, holistic financial advice to clients.

Hailed independently as part of the new breed of professional financial advisers, Main Street recently sought a new licensee, but with exacting requirements.

“Both Charles and I have strong personal values and with our professional backgrounds in law and accounting respectively we wanted a licensee that was unaligned, transparent and encouraged working on a fee-for-service basis,” Ms Fergusson said.

“We each see this as the future for the industry and we are excited to partner with Fitzpatricks. Main Street undertook a fairly extensive process in the search for an alternative dealer group. Fitzpatricks met our non-negotiable requirements, plus added additional value,” she said.

John Woodley, CEO of Fitzpatricks Private Wealth welcomed Charles and Rebecca. “We are delighted that Main Street has chosen Fitzpatricks as their licensee of choice. Our culture of client-centric advice and being a privately-owned business is a strong fit with Main Street.

“It is pleasing that high quality advisers of the calibre of Charles and Rebecca see value in the Fitzpatricks model and have joined our Group,” Mr Woodley said.

The move to Fitzpatricks is effective from 1 July 2015.

Mr Badenach said: “Fitzpatricks offered our business the strategic tools to take us to the next level as part of our evolution. The people are amongst the best and brightest in the industry and we are looking forward to engaging with them.”

Mr Woodley noted Fitzpatricks is currently being approached by a number of advisers looking to join the privately owned business. Fitzpatricks is one of the industry pioneers in providing a fee-for-service professional financial advisory model.
