Perpetual Limited (Perpetual) has announced Michael Gordon, Group Executive for Perpetual Investments, will retire at the end of the calendar year.

“We are highly respectful and fully supportive of Michael’s decision to retire from his executive role and we acknowledge his proven capability as a leader in Australian and global asset management,” said CEO and Managing Director Geoff Lloyd.

“This announcement follows a period of reflection for Michael after recovery from ill health last year,” Mr Lloyd explained. “Michael is very much part of the Perpetual family and we look forward to working with him through the rest of the year. This will include ensuring an orderly handover to his successor.”

Michael Gordon said, “It has been a difficult decision to step down at the start of a new phase of growth for Perpetual. I am proud to have been part of the team that has laid the foundations for that.

“This is a fantastic role and I love working at Perpetual. At the same time I recognise the demands of managing Perpetual Investments. I am looking forward to changing course and directing my energies away from executive life towards building a non-executive portfolio.”

An executive search has commenced for this key leadership position with accountability for investment management, product, distribution and operations for Perpetual’s leading asset management business.
