With exploding market volatility, extensive business disruption, and unprecedented levels of uncertainty in the midst of a global pandemic, Pengana Capital Group is hosting a series of webinars to provide the unique insights of their various investment teams.

CEO Russel Pillemer said the webinars in March and April have been extremely well received, with engaged webinar attendees asking pertinent questions across a board range of investment topics.

“It is more important than ever for investors to educate themselves on market risks and opportunities from professional active managers who have the resources, research capabilities, and years of experience managing investments in their specialty categories,” Mr Pillemer said.

“Each manager discusses their market outlook, and the risks and opportunities that have emerged in the current environment.”

The webinars address market-wide themes as well as providing updates on the portfolio positioning of the key products in the Pengana stable.

This week’s webinar will be hosted by James McDonald, Portfolio Manager at Pengana High Conviction Equities Fund. Mr McDonald will discuss some international equities with strong competitive positions and significant market share at 11am AEST on Thursday 23 April. Mr McDonald’s High Conviction portfolio is also run with a full ESG screen.

“An interesting stock in the High Conviction Equities Fund is Gilead Sciences (NASDAQ:GILD) which has made global headlines in the last week with their antiviral being touted as a possible Covid-19 treatment,” Mr McDonald said of Gilead, one of the largest holdings in his fund.

The following week, Jon Moog from Lizard Investors in Chicago (a fund manager widely recognised to be at the heart of global small cap investing) who is the portfolio manager of the Pengana Global Small Companies Fund, will present on diversified listed global small and mid-cap companies. This webinar will be held on 7 May 10am AET.

Fred Pollock, CIO and Portfolio Manager of Grosvenor Capital Management (one of the world’s largest and most diversified independent asset managers ), and manager of the Pengana Private Equity Trust (ASX:PE1), Pengana’s Listed Investment Trust that is Australia’s only listed portfolio of global private equity investments, will be next up in the webinar series.

Next up on offer is Jordan Cvetanovski from Pengana’s International Equities Funds, managing portfolios that have proven the worth of their unique portfolio construction process through their performance in the recent market volatility.

Last, but not least, on the menu is Portfolio Manager Amy Pham from Pengana’s newly launched High Conviction Property Securities Fund, Australia’s only high conviction AREIT with an ESG focus.
