Zurich Financial Services Australia (Zurich) has announced an innovative new partnership to provide risk engineering and resilience services to leading Australian zero-emissions truck manufacturer, SEA Electric.

Through the partnership, SEA Electric customers will have access to Zurich Resilience Solutions’ (ZRS) team of more than 800 risk engineers for pre-purchase advice, risk assessment services and driver training. Zurich customers and brokers will also be able to access the expertise and experience of SEA Electric as commercial fleets seek to transition to zero emissions.

ZRS provides specialised insights and tools – above and beyond insurance – to help companies across a wide range of industries manage traditional and evolving risks to become more resilient. Services are provided across a number of domains, including: climate change resilience; supply chain risk; and cyber security.

Australian-based SEA Electric specialises in the assembly and full electrification of commercial vehicles. Since launching in 2012, the company has released several models of medium and heavy-duty commercial electric vehicles, globally and locally, ranging from delivery and garbage trucks to school buses, shuttle buses and passenger vans.

Mervyn Rea, Head of ZRS Australia & New Zealand, said: “We are delighted that Zurich’s leading risk and resilience capability is supporting commercial EV uptake in Australia. Zurich and SEA Electric share a common commitment to improving the sustainability and resilience of our customers and community and this agreement presents an important opportunity to further this.”

Joe Di Santo, Sales Director for SEA Electric in Australia, said: “SEA Electric is a leader in Australia’s shift to sustainable transport so we take our responsibility of connecting customers with reputable and proven organisations seriously. Zurich is highly respected within the industry and their offering will complement, enhance and complete the acquisition of SEA Electric vehicles.”
