The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) encourage insurers to proactively safeguard clients against potential cyber threats, in light of Paris Olympics cybersecurity concerns.

Organisers of the Paris Summer Olympics are anticipating a number of cyber-attack attempts, following recent incidents where hackers caused shutdowns of websites for a film festival and museum in Paris. These incidents have raised concerns about the potential for similar disruptions during the Games.

These cybersecurity events extend beyond the Olympics. As technology continues to advance, the importance of cyber safety becomes increasingly critical, highlighting the need for robust protective measures against digital threats.

“Cybersecurity is and should be on the minds of every business. Between 2021 and 2023, data breaches rose by 72%, surpassing the previous record. These statistics highlight the importance of having the right protections in place”, says ANZIIF CEO, Katrina Shanks.
