Woodbridge Capital, an investment manager and non-bank lender, has appointed Equity Trustees as the Trustee of the Woodbridge Private Credit Fund.

Earlier this year, Equity Trustees was appointed as the Responsible Entity (RE) for the Woodbridge Secured Income Fund. Woodbridge ensures both funds are supported by market leading oversight capability enabling the highest standards of governance and operational excellence.

Andrew Godfrey, Executive General Manager of Corporate and Superannuation Trustee Services at Equity Trustees, said: “We are pleased Woodbridge Capital saw fit to appoint us as Trustee for their latest private credit offering after their experience of our RE service, and look forward to developing this partnership as a foundation for their current and future successes.”

The Woodbridge Private Credit Fund aims to provide investors with a return of the RBA cash rate plus 5% to 7% per annum after fees and costs, with direct exposure to first mortgage (senior secured) Australian and New Zealand real estate loans.

Andrew Torrington, Managing Director and CIO at Woodbridge Capital, commenting on the progress of the credit fund, said: “We’re thrilled to launch our second private credit fund, providing retail investors with a first mortgage (senior secured) real estate investment opportunity.”

He added: “Market dynamics and regulatory changes have seen Australian and New Zealand banks reduce their exposure to real estate financing, creating an opportunity in the lending market We believe this trend will continue to play out in Australia and New Zealand, expanding the market for retail investors.”

Woodbridge Capital is an established investment manager with experienced funds management professionals, wholly owned by its directors. With over thirty years of experience, the team specialises in property finance, real estate investment, development, and construction. In the past decade, they have successfully deployed and managed over $5 billion in loans without any impairments.
