<h3 class="x_paragraph"><span class="x_normaltextrun"><span lang="EN-GB">Ahead of the federal election, the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA) has launched a new initiative to encourage members to build closer relationships with federal parliamentarians and advocate on behalf of the financial advice profession.</span></span><span class="x_eop"> </span></h3>
<p class="x_paragraph"><span class="x_normaltextrun">While a date has not yet been set for the federal election, the FAAA is calling for members to self-nominate to become an ‘FAAA Advice Ambassador’. </span><span class="x_eop"> </span></p>
<p class="x_paragraph"><span class="x_normaltextrun"><span lang="EN-GB">The FAAA will support these Advice Ambassadors to liaise directly with federal politicians, explaining the financial advice process and the value it adds to everyday Australians, and discussing needed reforms on financial advice regulation, said Sarah Abood, CEO of the FAAA.</span></span><span class="x_eop"> </span></p>
<p class="x_paragraph"><span class="x_normaltextrun"><span lang="EN-GB">“We are seeking highly involved FAAA members who feel comfortable engaging with federal parliamentarians, and we want advisers from all walks of life and all business models to participate – reflecting the diversity and professionalism of our members.</span></span><span class="x_eop"> </span></p>
<p class="x_paragraph"><span class="x_normaltextrun"><span lang="EN-GB">“These FAAA Advice Ambassadors will meet with politicians to keep them abreast of the issues in the financial advice industry. We also want them to explain the benefits of financial advice to everyday Australians to help them overcome cost-of-living pressures and to build wealth over time,” she said.</span></span><span class="x_eop"> </span></p>
<p class="x_paragraph"><span class="x_normaltextrun"><span lang="EN-GB">The FAAA will support its Ambassadors in setting up meetings and providing relevant information and support material for meetings with politicians.</span></span><span class="x_eop"> </span></p>
