On Thursday 1 September, the AFA announced that they had agreed to explore a merger proposal with the FPA. When considering the proposed merger, our members’ needs have been, and will be, at the forefront of any options that will be explored and decisions made.

The AFA member community is critical; this will remain an essential part of the merged entity. As such, we are keen to consult with you and seek your feedback, before holding any vote on the proposal. It will be our members, and the FPA members, who will make the final decision on whether to merge.

AFA President, Sam Perera and Phil Anderson, AFA CEO, are holding a member consultation meeting in Sydney to meet as many members as possible, to give you the opportunity to ask any questions about what a merger may mean.
