It’s often said that ‘change is the only constant’. This could not be more true for the financial services industry which has faced unprecedented changes in recent years. Against the backdrop of the Royal Commission era, the emergence of ESG, the impact of COVID-19 transforming the way we work, rapid technological advancements and increased digitisation, the shifting geopolitical environment and an evolving regulatory agenda, it has been a time of challenge, disruption, and volatility. But with change comes opportunity, the opportunity to forge a new path – changing the way we operate, reshaping our business models and roles, and creating a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable future for finance.

The 2022 AFIA Conference will bring together industry peers, influential thought leaders, policymakers and regulators across the industry to share ideas and learnings, to come to reflect on how we, the finance community, can learn from the successes and mistakes of the past and be ready to achieve change in A Different Way.

This year’s conference will be held on Tuesday 18 October at Sydney’s Zest Waterfront Venues from 9.00am to 7.30pm (including a special networking event).

Attendees will gain exclusive industry insights from a diverse line-up of expert speakers, discuss and debate the most pressing issues facing financial services and strengthen business relationships with senior executives from some of Australia’s leading finance brands.

We are pleased to announce the following keynote speakers for the event:

ASIC Commissioner, Sean Hughes

APRA Executive Director of Banking, Therese McCarthy

RBA Deputy Governor, Michele Bullock

With more speakers to be announced next week.

Full program to be released shortly.

Due to last year’s success, the 2022 AFIA Conference will be held as a hybrid event, offering both physical and virtual forums for business leaders to keep pace with trends, emerging themes, new regulations, economic developments, and innovations shaping the Australian financial services landscape. See below for information on our 2022 registration options.

For those unable to attend in person due to travel or time constraints, our virtual pass grants you access to ALL the conference sessions in the convenience of your own location.
