For the second consecutive year, Barry.Nilsson. has walked away with the pre-eminent award for insurance law firms at the 2017 Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) awards.

Barry.Nilsson. beat a field of prestigious national nominees to win “Professional Services Firm of the Year” after winning the accolade at last year’s awards.

Now in its 14th year, the ANZIIF awards recognise excellence and achievement by the top performing individuals and businesses in the industry.

The judges commended the firm for its “outstanding level of industry support, thought leadership, industry papers and sponsorship.”

“This award is recognition of the years of hard work, dedication, loyalty and excellent client service that we’ve continued to provide our clients and the industry,” said Don Leembruggen, Managing Partner of Barry.Nilsson.

“It is also a significant endorsement of the culture of Barry. Nilsson: real people with real talent, working towards a common goal – enjoying our work and enjoying our clients.

“There’s a mutual understanding of treating everyone with respect based on the firm’s shared core values of trustworthiness, dedication, excellence and loyalty.”

In 2016 Barry.Nilsson. opened offices in Adelaide and Hobart, bolstering its national offering to five fully-fuelled Insurance and Health practices, including their offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

The move has seen a 77 per cent increase in staff to the benefit of existing and new insurance clients.

“We have invested heavily in our staff and in innovation and technology to automate processes and minimise costs to facilitate our primary objective: effective and efficient claims resolution,” said Mr Leembruggen. “Barry.Nilsson.’s key differentiator is our constant adherence to our claims management strategies which have proven to deliver savings and ensure superior claims management by way of effective, efficient and cost-effective outcomes.”

Speaking after last Thursday night’s award ceremony in Sydney, ANZIIF CEO Prue Willsford praised the efforts of this year’s winners.

“With a breadth of the industry represented amongst this year’s winners, it is very pleasing to see that this industry and its people are increasingly focused on the betterment of our industry, our staff and our community through various projects, programs and innovations,” said Ms Willsford.
