J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) Has announced that it will launch four low-cost ETF models in Australia, developed with Vanguard Australia as the index manager of the models. This collaboration brings together two global leaders in the investment management industry, combining JPMAM’s expertise in active management with Vanguard’s leadership in passive strategies in a cost-effective solution.

Global active and passive expertise in a low-cost model

The agreement between JPMAM and Vanguard is built on a shared commitment to a “client first” mentality. This collaboration aims to provide wealth managers and financial advisers with access to low-cost models that align with their clients’ financial goals.

The adoption of models in Australia has seen significant growth, transforming the way advisers serve their clients. The shift is driven by efficiency gains and the move towards a more holistic wealth management approach, freeing up capacity to enable more personalised advice and consistent portfolio outcomes for clients.

“The four strategic asset allocation models – Conservative, Balanced, Growth and High Growth – are constructed by JPMAM’s global multi-asset solutions team using our Long-Term Capital Market Assumptions now in its 30th year. Last year’s report reinforced the importance of building goal-aligned portfolios that can withstand market volatility and seize growth opportunities. These low cost models which combine active ETFs from JPMAM and passive index ETFs from Vanguard are a true reflection of this,” said Mark Carlile, Head of Wholesale, Australia and New Zealand.

“We are excited to be the index partner with JPMAM on their new models,” said Rachel White, Head of Financial Adviser Services Vanguard Investments Australia. “As we continue to support our longstanding adviser base, these models also enable us to thoughtfully extend our reach into the broker and private wealth segment—providing a compelling blend of active and passive strategies.”

Key features of the ETF models

Active + Passive Global Expertise: The four ETF models offer a strategic blend of active and passive management, providing clients with a diversified investment approach

Low-Cost Solution: With total all-in fees from 46bps[1], the models are competitively priced

Accessibility: The models will be available on third-party platforms, enabling wealth managers and financial advisers to access them through the platforms they already use for investment purposes

“Allocating between active and passive is an active decision. As a leading global active asset manager and a long term advocate for active investing, we are excited to partner with a global leader in passive investing to bring the expertise of both to Australian wealth managers and advisers,” said Andrew Creber, Australia and New Zealand CEO, JPMAM.

“This partnership is the first of its kind globally between our organisations and we are proud to be leading the charge in Australia,” adds Daniel Shrimski, Managing Director, Vanguard Investments Australia.

———-

Notes:
[1] Total indicative all-in fees includes asset manager fee and platform fee. Fee will vary depending on the model and platform selected.
