Adam Quaife

UBS Asset Management has annouced that Adam Quaife has been appointed as Country Head Australia & New Zealand and Head Institutional Client Coverage (ICC) Australia. He takes over from Nick Hughes, Co-Country Head and Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) for UBS Australia and New Zealand, who assumed the role on an interim basis.

Adam brings 25 years of asset management experience and a proven record of building successful businesses across both institutional and wholesale channels. He recently served as Chief Distribution Officer for Perpetual’s Australian asset management business, and prior to that, held senior distribution leadership roles at Franklin Templeton – including establishing their local presence.

About Adam Quaife

Adam has over 25 years experience in working in Australian and global asset management. He has held a range of roles within the asset management industry spanning institutional and wholesale sales, client engagement, stakeholder management and strategy implementation.

Most recently, he ran his own consultancy firm, working with boutique asset managers to develop and implement strategic distribution plans. Prior to this, he spent five years at Perpetual limited, including as Chief Distribution Officer for Perpetual’s Australian asset management business, and held multiple senior distribution leadership roles at Franklin Templeton between 2002-2019 – including establishing their Global Advisory Services business in Australia.

Adam will become a member of the Asset Management APAC Management Forum and will also join the UBS ANZ Country Management Forum.

Adam holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University of Technology and a Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments from FINSIA.

Thira joins from BNP Paribas AM where he was most recently Head of Wholesale Distribution, Australia & New Zealand. He brings a wealth of experience in the Australian asset management industry, having previously held various distribution roles with Nikko AM and Blackrock. He began his career on the investment side at AMP in 2007. Thira holds a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University, Sydney.

Thira’s appointment is a key step in the growth strategy for UBS Asset Management in Australia and New Zealand as we develop our local with global product strategy and strengthen our distribution capabilities in this fast-evolving wealth market. Thira will report locally to Alison Telfer as Country Head for UBS Asset Management Australia & NZ and regionally to Thomas Kaegi, APAC Head of Wholesale Distribution.
