Skandia Investment Group has awarded AU $30 million to Aubrey Capital. This brings the total funds undermanagement to AU $496 million. 

According to Aubrey’s Chief Investment Officer, Andrew Dalrymple, the mandate was awarded after a competitive tender recognising Aubrey’s existing track record managing assets and its capability in delivering tailored investment management solutions. 

“Aubrey has been focusing on establishing solutions with appropriate research, risk and portfolio management processes. We are delighted to now be working with Skandia to deliver these capabilities to its investors.”

Aubrey invests in attractive markets and sectors on a worldwide basis and aims to achieve long-term capital growth. The flagship Global Conviction Fund has delivered a return of 25.7% since its inception in 2007.

Mr Dalrymple commented that “the strength of Aubrey’s investment team has been further enhanced with the appointment of Senior Investment Analyst, John Ewart.  A number of the investment team have worked with John previously and we are confident he will be a good cultural fit with the team. We are very pleased to have John on board.” 

John Ewart brings more than 20 years experience managing European funds, institutional UK pensions and international client portfolios. He has managed pan European equity portfolios in the UK retail and pension fund market, as well as segregated client portfolios both at First State Investments and FS Assurance. During his time at Alliance Trust he managed UK mid cap portfolio, the Global Equity portfolio, and latterly the Global Emerging Markets portfolio.
