Terrorism, digital trends and fraud lead the list of industry topics to be addressed at the AICLA-ANZIIF Claims Convention, as the claims sector confronts a rapidly changing business environment.

Following the December 2014 Martin Place siege and the universality of concerns surrounding terrorism, a line-up of presenters including high profile international risk and social commentator Dr Keith Suter and Dr Chris Wallace, CEO of the Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation, will present on the threat of terrorism and the impact of terrorism-related claims.

Digital trends, including big data, IT and social media will also be addressed along with recent developments and emerging areas of fraud, evidence and cybercrime.

“The breadth of the program reflects the number of emerging risks and opportunities that are arising in claims as well as the growing complexity of issues that claims professionals are now managing.”

“The Claims Convention is a fundamental part of ANZIIF’s work to ensure that those working in claims have access and exposure to the experts, ideas and issues that will affect them and their businesses in the years to come,” said Prue Willsford, CEO, Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF), which hosts the annual event with the Australian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters.

Now in its ninth year, the 2015 Claims Convention tackles emerging and current business issues, models and practices in claims management.

The 2015 ANZIIF-AICLA Claims Convention will be held in Sydney on 5-6 August. More information is available from theinstitute.com.au/events
