The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) has announced broadcaster and television personality Andrew Denton as a keynote speaker for its 2014 Professionals Congress in Adelaide and renowned food personality Maggie Beer for the Women in Finance Breakfast.

The FPA has also revealed a comprehensive workshop agenda covering technical skills, best practice, personal development and leadership skills.

Mark Rantall, CEO of the FPA, said: “We’re really excited to bring this year’s program to the financial planning community. It’s a comprehensive agenda with top industry experts and high quality speakers such as Andrew Denton, Carl Richards, Michael McQueen and Maggie Beer.

“Everyone should also stay tuned for our last major speaker announcement in September.”

Widely-respected food personality, Maggie Beer, will be hosting the Women in Finance breakfast, to speak about her philosophy: ‘A good food for life for all – and all that encompasses’.

Alongside Maggie Beer, Andrew Denton has been announced as the third keynote speaker. Andrew will draw on his 25 years in media and interviews with everyone from world leaders to the homeless, to share his thoughts on what makes a successful leader.

Previously announced keynote speakers Michael McQueen and US-based Carl Richards CFP^® are also part of this year’s high profile line up. Michael, a social researcher and author, will provide insights into how businesses and leaders can ride the waves of change. Following his popular session in 2013, Michael will be leading a CFP^® Masterclass, where he will share specific success stories from financial planners around the world to help planners change the lives of their clients.

FPA welcomes registrations to 2014 Professionals Congress

The FPA yesterday announced the first in the line-up of speakers to appear at the 2014 Professionals Congress this November at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Carl Richards CFP® will return to address delegates following his popular appearance at last year’s Congress.

Matthew Rowe, FPA Chairman said: “The FPA is pleased to welcome Carl back to Australia to host a master class for this year’s Professionals Congress. His motivating and thought-provoking message resonated strongly with delegates last year and is in keeping with the Congress theme of ‘Inspiring Greatness.’

“Our 2014 program and theme has been designed to provide delegates with inspiration and practical advice in order to help them do greater things within their practices. Listening to feedback from last year’s Professionals Congress, attended by record numbers of delegates, we’ve kept the format of workshops offered, which will cover four key topic areas: Leadership, Technical, Best Practice and Personal Development.

“The FPA is looking forward to an even bigger and better Congress and to welcoming the biggest community of financial planning professionals together once again.”

This years’ event is set to be just as popular as last year’s Congress in Sydney as financial planners descend on Australia’s home of food and wine. Delegates this year are also encouraged to bring their partners to enjoy organised food and wine tours while being welcomed at the opening and closing sessions of Congress as well as the Future2 Gala Dinner.

Advance ticket release registrations to the FPA’s Professionals Congress in Adelaide on 19-21 November are now open. The FPA is encouraging delegates to register before July 1 to take advantage of the tax deduction before the end of the financial year. Planners who register now will also have first choice of workshops once the program is released.
