Bravura Solutions Limited (ASX:BVS) (Bravura) has announced the appointment of its new Head of Product, Greg Johnson, as the business continues its transition to a product-centric organisation.

In his role, Johnson will lead Bravura’s global product team, working to unify and simplify Bravura’s expansive suite of products throughout the wealth value chain, with a focus on creating repeatable, scalable and easily integrated solutions. This will include Johnson collaborating closely with clients throughout the world to develop and streamline technology and business processes to improve efficiency and enhance customer experience through digital delivery.

Bravura has deep industry expertise in wealth management, UK pensions, Australian superannuation, and funds administration technologies with more than $5tr USD in funds under administration[1] (FUA) on its systems.

The appointment of a global Head of Product and centralised product management team is a crucial step in Bravura’s journey to become a product-centric organisation, unifying its global resources and creating a clear roadmap for product innovation, said Andrew Russell, Bravura Group’s Chief Executive Officer.

Russell said: “With extensive financial services experience, Greg will be a great addition to the team and will work closely with our global customers to better understand their pain points and how Bravura products can better meet their strategic goals in the wealth management and funds administration space. Our clients are looking to us to help them drive down costs, reduce complexity and increase efficiencies and I’m confident that Greg will help us achieve these aims in a way that resonates with clients and helps increase our footprint in key markets across the globe.”

Johnson said: “Bravura has an expansive reach and scale across its suite of solutions and a huge opportunity to build on its rich history and capability to help our clients become more efficient, streamlined and ultimately more profitable. I’m looking forward to working with clients on our product innovation plans and helping them innovate in some of the most tightly regulated industries in the global markets in which we operate.”

Johnson joins Bravura with deep technology, product and wider industry expertise after holding senior roles at AMP, TAL Limited and Nano Digital Home Loans, where he was most recently B2B Group Executive. Before that, he was General Manager at Challenger Limited, and was responsible for the company’s underlying growth strategy in the annuities and life business units, which included its group portfolio and mergers and acquisitions strategy.

AMP is rewarding people who live a healthy lifestyle with a discount on life insurance premiums. Eligible customers can receive a 10 per cent discount for the first five years on new AMP Elevate Life and Total and Permanent Disability stepped premium policies.

This discount can be combined with other offers, including a five per cent multi-policy discount, meaning customers can receive up to 15 per cent off their premiums.

To be eligible for the AMP Elevate Healthy Start discount, customers need to:

Be aged between 30 and 60 (on next birthday)

Be a non-smoker

Have a BMI of between 18.5 and 28

Have no health-related loadings or exclusions on lump sum cover

AMP Director Insurance Proposition Greg Johnson said advisers are having more health-based conversations with their clients and the health discount will help advisers with these lifestyle and goals-based discussions.

“It also marks a shift as we look to develop a stronger, ongoing relationship with our customers to help them live healthier lives and reward them for doing so.

“We hope this offer encourages our customers to lead a healthy lifestyle now and into the future,” Mr Johnson said.

AMP has boosted its Life Insurance Framework (LIF) resource hub with the launch of a new video tutorial series and practice diagnostic tool to assist advisers in assessing and managing their LIF readiness.

The video tutorial series, developed in conjunction with independent advice expert Sue Viskovic, features eight tutorials focused on practice management and aims to help advisers work through considerations from pricing and revenue models, to target market and value propositions.

The new diagnostic tool, which is now available to EFA’s, follows the release of an aligned adviser version, and helps advisers uncover areas of their business that may need attention. It also provides an action plan to prepare their practice.

AMP’s Director Insurance Proposition Greg Johnson said advisers are managing through a period of significant change and they’ve worked hard to identify how their businesses will be impacted by the legislation taking effect from 1 January 2018.

“The enhancements to the LIF hub will provide advisers with further tools and support to help them get across the line in transitioning their business into the new environment,” Mr Johnson said.

Enhancements to the LIF resource hub follow a range of LIF readiness activities, with licensee support including webinar training, master classes and specialist training for practice staff.

AMP’s insurance business has launched a Life Insurance Framework (LIF) resource hub featuring a range of tools to help advisers prepare for the legislation taking effect from 1 January 2018.

Advisers can assess their LIF readiness with a cashflow modeller that allows advisers to consider the impact different remuneration structures could have on their business. The resource hub also features video tutorials.

AMP’s Director Insurance Proposition Greg Johnson said by providing the appropriate resources, tools and insights, the online hub will help advisers understand implications of the LIF reforms and help them take the necessary steps to transition their business.

“AMP is focussed on supporting advisers with the tools they need so they can continue to drive good outcomes for their customers,” Mr Johnson said.

The cashflow modeller allows advisers to compare current cashflow and capital valuation with future projections and understand how adjusting key financial levers could influence the health of their business.

Mr Johnson said: “We know advisers are experiencing a huge amount of change as the insurance industry adjusts to a new operating environment, and they need the right support and resources to continue to service the diverse and changing insurance needs of their customers.”

The launch of the resource hub follows a range of LIF readiness activities for AMP aligned advisers. Licensee support has included professional development master classes, legislative updates and specialised training for practice staff and will be followed by webinar training next month.

This includes a practice diagnostic tool to help aligned advisers uncover areas of their business that may need attention. It provides an action plan so they have clear steps to prepare their practice.

Mr Johnson added: “Helping advisers to manage and drive sustainable businesses is vital to ensuring our industry continues to make insurance accessible to as many people as possible.”

AMP has launched a series of new features and improvements to AMP Elevate insurance, giving advisers and customers more choice and flexibility when it comes to life insurance.

Standard income protection plans in super can now be linked to plans held outside super, allowing customers to take agreed value income insurance while paying most of the premium from their super account.

A new inbuilt ‘buy back’ feature will allow customers to reinstate linked life insurance cover 12 months after a TPD claim without providing additional medical information.

AMP Director Insurance Proposition Greg Johnson said the enhancements are all about making AMP Elevate even more flexible and competitive.

To ensure we help customers keep their cover contemporary, options can be added to existing AMP Elevate insurance plans, giving advisers the ability to alter a customer’s cover without them needing to take out a new plan.

Customers can also now apply for a TPD sum insured higher than their life insurance sum insured through super. This is especially important for people without dependents who may value higher TPD coverage over the need to leave a legacy behind.

The AMP Elevate Product Disclosure Statement has been simplified and policy documents are now incorporated into the PDS so all important information is in one place.

Mr Johnson added: “We’re delivering on our promise to help advisers grow their risk business while making it easier for people to access the insurance they need.”

The enhancements are available for new applications from 10 June 2017.

AMP has launched a series of design and technology enhancements to Elevate Online, the web-based platform supporting AMP’s Elevate insurance.

The changes simplify and streamline the quoting and application process making it easier for advisers to educate and support their customers in making informed decisions on life insurancecover.

The enhancements allow advisers to quote and apply for insurance using iPad or and roidtablets and compare multiple insurance scenarios and plans through a dynamic new interface.

It is also now easier for advisers to track applications online, from submission through to in-force.

AMP Head of Retail Insurance Greg Johnson said the changes were based on feedback from advisers and designed to allow them to spend more time with customers.

“The enhancements will reduce advisers’ cost to serve and, importantly, give them more time to have quality conversations with customers, helping them achieve their goals,” Mr Johnson said.

The changes to AMP’s Elevate Online are live.

AMP Elevate insurance is an award winning, comprehensive insurance solution with competitive discounts and specialist product and sales support.

AMP has launched an adviser support website offering a one-stop site for financial advisers on all things insurance, including a range of tools and support initiatives.

The specialist website is a toolbox of resources designed to help financial advisers manage all aspects of life insurance advice.

AMP Head of Retail Insurance Greg Johnson said the life insurance industry continues to evolve and the website is another way we are supporting advisers to help customers achieve their goals.

“Life insurance plays a vital role in the wealth and health of Australians, but we recognise it is an inherently complex product. This initiative will help make managing insurance less complex for advisers and in turn their customers.

“We will continue to support advisers to deliver quality advice, including developing technology and systems which allow advice to be delivered more efficiently,” he said.

The adviser support website includes AMP’s GPS Navigator, an online tool to help financial advisers match a client’s unique goals and circumstances with particular product features and a link to Client Alerts that identify opportunities in an adviser’s client base triggered by certain life events.

The support site has details of a five per cent discount for customers taking up new AMP Elevate Life and TPD policies. The discount lasts for the life of the policy and can be combined with a five per cent multi plan discount on Life, TPD and Trauma, when bundled with an eligible Income Protection policy.

Mr Johnson added: “For the past few years we have been focussed on transforming our business, increasing the value customers receive and improving the experience they have.

“This has involved introducing a new approach to assessing and managing life insurance claims and developing processes of managing insurance that are less complex.”

Financial advisers can access the support site here.
