Before her appointment to The Fold, Hillary was Senior Lawyer and APRA liaison for the Deposit Takers, Consumer Credit and Insurers team at ASIC. Prior to that, she spent six years as a lawyer for Westpac in the field of intellectual property and information technology commercial and corporate law.

“Hillary is very senior in her field and highly regarded at ASIC and APRA. Her qualifications, expertise and experience are a perfect fit for The Fold,” says Ms Wivell Plater.

Hillary holds an LLB, Law from Australian National University, undergraduate qualifications and a PhD in history and philosophy of science from Cambridge University and both a BA and MA History (Hons) from City University of New York, Hunter College.

Hillary is focusing on commercial advice to financial services businesses and dealing with ASIC on relief applications and challenging licensing and enforcement matters.

“She will also look after mergers and acquisitions and contract drafting and will be at the forefront of our liaison with the Australian Compliance Institute,” Ms Wivell Plater says.
