Hosted by TV personality Osher Günsberg, the evening was a spectacular celebration of the industry’s resilience and innovation. Guests were treated to a breathtaking aerial display by Leo Pentland and a powerful performance from proud Gamilaraay man and multimedia artist Mitch Tambo, creating an atmosphere of inspiration and unity.

Honouring industry icons

The highest honours of the evening, the Lifetime Achiever Awards, were presented to two iconic industry leaders:

• Robert Kelly AM, Co-founder and CEO of Steadfast, recognised for his visionary leadership and tireless commitment to strengthening the broking community.
• Ian Carr, Founder of Insurance Advisernet, honoured for his pioneering spirit and dedication to building one of Australia’s most successful broker networks.

Both leaders were recognised for their enduring impact on the broking profession and their role in shaping today’s insurance landscape.

In her welcome address, ANZIIF CEO Katrina Shanks paid tribute to the collective strength of the insurance profession:

ANZIIF extended its gratitude to the many sponsors, corporate supporters, and judges who made the Awards possible, noting their role in strengthening the profession and upholding the standards of fairness and excellence.

Looking ahead

Now in their 21st year, the Awards continue to set the benchmark for professional recognition in insurance. More than a celebration of past achievements, the 2025 Awards reaffirm the industry’s ongoing commitment to lifelong learning, innovation, and community impact — with the bar set higher each year.

Insurance Advisernet and AUB Group (ASX:AUB) has announced a new jointly-owned venture, Insurance Advisernet Equity Partners.

The purpose of the new venture is to acquire a non-controlling shareholding in select members of Insurance Advisernet, a network of over 200 authorised representative/broker members in Australia and New Zealand.

Ian Carr, Founder and Chairman of Insurance Advisernet said, “Our network has been growing at over 20 percent per annum and our practices now have 85,000 clients generating in excess of $650 million of premiums. Over the years, we have assisted many practices to commence their own businesses and flourish, and now we can assist even further by providing the complete ‘cradle to grave’ solution.”

Discussing the initiative, Mike Emmett, CEO and Managing Director, AUB Group said, “We are very pleased to announce this new venture, which is a natural and exciting extension of our 13 year partnership with Insurance Advisernet. We believe that this new venture will enable current Insurance Advisernet members to accelerate their growth and facilitate long-term succession. We also hope that the benefits offered by this new venture will attract additional authorised representatives and brokers in the market to become members of Insurance Advisernet.”

The venture already has capital available for investment and will be appointing a new General Manager to work with Insurance Advisernet and assess and support interested members.
