Count has announced that Tribel Advisory (Tribel) has joined its AFSL network. With 11 financial advisers, Tribel becomes the largest firm licensed with Count in terms of Authorised Representative numbers and one of the first to join from Affinia following Count’s acquisition in May 2023.

Tribel has been building financial wellness for its clients since 2015. Their client-centric offer is centred around demystifying the complexities of financial planning and empowering clients to achieve holistic financial well-being. Tribel CEO Jayson Walker strongly believes in developing a financial advice business that guides clients over the course of their financial journey.

“Our holistic view aims to plug the gap of what we do for clients outside the traditional services like insurance, investment and superannuation advice, and instead consider how we help clients consume solutions throughout their life and do our part to provide these solutions in a trusted way.”

Supporting those in need in the community Tribel’s prioritisation of well-being extends beyond their own clients and into the wider community. The firm currently does pro bono advisory work for the Cancer Council, supplying financial advice to individuals affected by cancer each month.

Tribel has also been a long-term supporter of OzHarvest, donating over $10,000 to support the organisation’s efforts to combat food insecurity in Australia.

“Struggling to put food on the table shouldn’t be a reality in Australia, but it is for so many people. We’re committed to doing our part in helping tackle this problem”, Walker added.

Joining Count a ‘natural course of action’ For Walker and the Tribel team, the decision to join Count was seen as a natural move, with their business model strongly aligned with Count’s commitment to being Australia’s leading provider of integrated wealth and accounting services.

“Count is a business that supports advisers and accountants who are ultimately aiming to become professional integrated wealth and accounting firms. If that’s the vision and direction in which Count is heading, why wouldn’t we want to align and partner with a group that is going to deliver support to groups like us?”

Walker also said that Count was responsive and took on feedback to help improve the onboarding experience.

“In response to the insights and suggestions we provided, Count modified their approach and created a better experience for Tribel. We are excited and optimistic about commencing this new chapter.”

Count Chief Advice Officer, Andrew Kennedy, said that Tribel’s appointment was terrific news that would create cultural benefits for the entire Count network.

“Tribel is a highly successful business that will act as a role model for others in our network. Their professionalism, community focus and unwavering commitment to clients encompasses everything we stand for as a business.”

Global professional services firm Aon has collaborated with Global software provider SuiteBox, to roll out its digital workspace technology to its Australian adviser network, to streamline their advice process and provide improved client experience.

“Aon has had a client first philosophy for some time now, leveraging technology such as SuiteBox’s video conferencing platform is the next logical step in improving the client experience. It also, increases the effectiveness and efficiencies for our adviser’s practices.” Said Jayson Walker, Aon’s General Manager of Financial Advice.

“A key innovation from SuiteBox was the integration of the digital signatures into the video conference itself. To have an adviser be able to digitally present a Statement of Advice and capture the Authority to Proceed in the same session is the kind of easy and simple process consumers have come to expect.” He added.

Aon has over 200 advisers across its network who will have access to SuiteBox’s video, collaboration, and digital signature tools.

Ian Dunbar, CEO of SuiteBox, commented: ‘Aon’s undertook a comprehensive review of functionality, risk and suitability, and I am very proud that SuiteBox has been selected by Aon to deliver a comprehensive digital workspace to their advisers and clients’.

“From our inception, SuiteBox has always understood the importance of the ability to not only meet, but also collaborate on documents and transact business all in the one digital solution. This combination puts SuiteBox at the leading edge of digital workflows for professional services. The adoption of SuiteBox within Aon is true endorsement of this strategy”.

Over 800 companies globally use SuiteBox’s digital workspace. The company is experiencing a rapid expansion given the growing popularity of video conferencing in business and the engagement it offers with clients.

Aon Hewitt has selected Equity Trustees Limited (EQT) to provide an estate planning referral service for its advisers.

Through the partnership, Aon Hewitt will have access to the services and assistance of EQT’s accredited estate planning and wills specialists, on behalf of its clients.

The service is available to Aon Hewitt’s financial adviser network although over time it will be extended to members of the Aon Master Trust and corporate clients.

Jayson Walker, general manager, Aon Hewitt Financial Advice, said there is an increasing need amongst its advisers for quality estate planning services for their clients.

“Australia’s aging population and the transfer of wealth from baby boomers to their children and grandchildren means that estate planning is an area of key importance to Aon Hewitt advisers.

“As a licensee we are keen to assist our advisers in ‘future-proofing’ their business wherever we can. One of the ways we hope to do this is by introducing solutions that help our advisers add value to their client relationships, and assisting multiple generations of a client’s family to see the difference that quality holistic financial advice can make to their financial situation is a good way to do that.

“We spoke with a number of service providers in the market and selected EQT because of its experience in partnering with advisers to deliver client and business outcomes. It has a robust estate planning process, national coverage, independence, and highly experienced and qualified estate planning professionals,” Mr Walker said.

David Plant, general manager operations at Aon Hewitt Financial Advice, added that: “Providing high quality estate planning services will also ensure our advisers are able to meet Future of Financial Advice (FOFA) requirements by ensuring a full understanding of their clients’ circumstances, and acting in their best interests.

“We therefore piloted a scheme with EQT where our advisers can access EQT’s estate planning specialists and over the next year, the service will be rolled out across the rest of the Aon Hewitt business.

“It has already resulted in positive outcomes for advisers who trialled the arrangement,” said Mr Plant.

Geoff Rimmer, head of Private Wealth Services at EQT, said that EQT is seeing an increasing level of interest amongst advisers in accessing the kinds of specialist assistance and expertise that EQT offers.

“Rather than attempt to be all things to all people, many advisers are recognising that a better approach – both for them and for their clients – is to have access to a network of experts that can be called on as and when needed.

“This allows them to continue to own the relationship with the client while at the same time having confidence that they are satisfying the fiduciary responsibility, the best interest requirements of FOFA, as well as broadening the base and strength of client relationships.

“We believe we are in a strong position to create similar approaches and services to other financial planning groups,” Mr Rimmer said.
