In the role, Murrihy’s responsibilities will involve working with wholesale, private wealth and retail advisers across Victoria and Tasmania on behalf of Bennelong’s boutique investment partners and global asset managers.

Saw said that Murrihy has exceptional experience in wealth and investment management distribution across a range of asset classes.

“His background in investment sales and relationship building across product development and platforms will be invaluable as Bennelong continues to expand its distribution capabilities, both on behalf of our boutique investment partners as well as leading international asset managers such as Allspring and Skerryvore Asset Management,” she said.

Murrihy has more than 25 years’ experience in financial services distribution. He joins Bennelong from Dexus, where he spent more than four years as regional manager, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. He has also held senior business development roles at MLC, Aviva Australia, Australian Skandia and Perpetual Investments.

Ms Evans has more than 25 years of experience in funds management, working across client relationship management. She has previously held senior account management positions at Colonial First State, Macquarie Group and BT Financial Group.

She is based in Brisbane and will report to account director Jodie Saw.

Mr Cumming starts his newly-created role with 13 years of experience in business development, distribution and account management across the funds and wealth management sectors. He has held senior business development roles at Macquarie Bank, MLC Australia and NAB.

He is based in Perth and will report to head of distribution Jonas Daly.

Mr Daly said Ms Evans and Mr Cumming are key to further expanding the company’s national distribution strategy.

“Amanda has exceptional relationship skills and an in-depth knowledge of the industry, and she’ll be instrumental in supporting our clients in the Queensland region,” he said.

Carl McMinn

Bennelong Funds Management has appointed Carl McMinn to the newly created role of Associate Account Director, Investments as Bennelong continues to build its investment sales team.

Mr McMinn will be based in Brisbane and report to Jodie Saw, Account Director, Investments, supporting the needs of advisers in Queensland.

Mr McMinn has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry and joins Bennelong from Challenger Limited, where he held the position of Business Development Manager for the past five years. Prior to this he was an account manager with Macquarie Bank within the Banking and Financial Services division. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from Griffith University.

Jonas Daly, Head of Retail Investment Sales, said the appointment was in response to strong business growth and Bennelong increasing its reach and service into the broader Queensland market.

“We have experienced strong growth in the north of Australia, capably led by Jodie over the past five years, and market demand has led to the creation of this new role. It ensures we can maintain a dedicated focus from senior staff servicing advisers in this market.

The appointment comes as existing team member Hayley Thompson was promoted to Associate Account Director, Investments. Hayley is based in Melbourne, reporting to Holly Old, Account Director, Investments. Her focus will be on servicing the Victorian and Tasmanian markets.
