<p>Jonathan Jin Yi Ang, 25, of St Leonards, NSW, had pleaded guilty to using inside information about the acquisition of Norton Gold Fields Limited (Norton) by Zijin Mining Group Co Ltd (Zijin) that was announced on the ASX on 3 April 2012 (refer: <span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;"><a href="http://www.asic.gov.au/asic/asic.nsf/byheadline/13-124MR+Sydney+man+pleads+guilty+to+insider+trading?openDocument" target="_self">13-124MR</a></span>).</p>
<p>Mr Ang’s trading took place through an associate between 27 March and 29 March 2012, and which made a gross profit of $4172.60.</p>
<p>Appearing today in the Downing Centre District Court, Mr Ang was given a two-year good behaviour bond.</p>
<p>ASIC Commissioner Cathie Armour said, ‘ASIC expects analysts who are in a position of trust not to use confidential information in a calculated way for personal gain.’</p>
<p>The Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions prosecuted the matter.</p>
