After announcing record platform growth in its quarterly and annual results and the appointment of ex-Powerwrap chairman Anthony Wamsteker as its new CEO, Praemium is positioning for its next phase of growth with additional executive responsibility changes.

In the past year Praemium has experienced growth in FUA of 223% from organic sales growth and the Powerwrap acquisition. Praemium provides administration and reporting solutions to around 25% of the $600 billion advised Private Wealth wholesale client market and has a strong and growing position in the advised retail IFA.

Mat Walker, Praemium’s Chief Commercial Officer, who has been responsible for product, marketing and sales will add business strategy to his responsibilities, working closely with Wamsteker. Martin Morris, Praemium’s Head of Distribution, will be promoted to the Executive Leadership Team of the business and assume full responsibility for sales as Chief Distribution Officer.

“With the acquisition of Powerwrap and investment in sales, service and operations over the past two years we are well positioned to capitalise on the strong momentum we have built and to deliver continued growth. While we’ve had a clear market strategy driving our direction, with the recent review our international business, there’s an opportunity to enhance Praemium’s domestic strategy to build on this growth. Since Mat joined the business at the end of 2017, he’s played a key role in developing Praemium’s market positioning and re-branding, overall platform and product value proposition and strategic investment in sales. During this time, Martin has built and led the Praemium Distribution Team and has been instrumental in growing the number of advisers using our platform and his thought leadership pieces have raised Praemium’s brand in the market, making these changes a natural evolution for the business.” Wamsteker said.

Praemium has announced it has integrated with Iress to make it easy for advisers to seamlessly initiate new Praemium applications from within Xplan.

Praemium’s existing paperless application with digital acceptance allows advisers to invite their clients to accept an application form online, speeding up the application and on-boarding process significantly. This process is now further enhanced by removing the need for double entry of client information and reducing the time it takes for advisers to complete an SOA and complete an application form.

The new integration adds to the already extensive list of data feeds Praemium offers to improve business efficiency and help advice firms create a single platform technology solution.

Praemium’s Chief Commercial Officer Mat Walker commented: “Praemium is continually looking for ways to improve our platform usability and to support our clients by improving business efficiency and reducing the administration burden. We are delighted to have partnered with Iress to deliver this functionality to our clients and create a highly efficient end-to-end digital application process.”

Iress’ Product Executive for Wealth, Emily Chen, said: “We’re pleased to be able to offer direct account integration between Xplan and Praemium as part of our ongoing focus on increasing connectivity to create a simpler and easier experience for advisers.”

Centrepoint’s partnered platform solution, Investment Exchange, has surpassed $1 billion in Funds Under Administration (FUA), announced Mat Walker, Group Executive for Centrepoint Alliance Investment Solutions.

Mr Walker said, “This is a significant milestone for the Investment Exchange platform and is indicative of the strong support by advisers and their clients for Centrepoint Alliance Investment Solutions, which now has more than $3b in its solutions overall.”

One of a number of ‘world class’ investment platforms partnered by Centrepoint Alliance, Investment Exchange is a platform partnership between Centrepoint Alliance and Colonial First State.

Matt Harrison, General Manager of Distribution for Colonial First State, said he was delighted that Investment Exchange had reached $1b FUA. “CFS has enjoyed strong collaboration with Centrepoint Alliance over many years. Investment Exchange’s growth reflects both this relationship and our commitment to meeting the needs of the independent advice market.” he said.

This milestone follows on from Centrepoint’s recent announcement of its first $100m in its Ventura Managed Account Portfolio Service (vMAPs), which has now reached nearly $200m in FUM.

Mr Walker said, “Centrepoint’s platform solutions are developed through partnered arrangements, which respect and protect the adviser-client relationship.

“We believe the significant growth in Centrepoint Alliance Investment Solutions has been due to the open architecture approach we take to support non-aligned dealers, advisers and their clients.

“We focus on partnering with global administration providers and investment managers who can deliver rich tailored features at a competitive price. We then complement this with training, support, and integration in IT and advice processes. This enables us to deliver additional benefits at lower prices to advice firms who want choice and are seeking to deliver on the ‘best interests’ advice strategies developed for their clients.

“In partnership with Colonial First State we look forward to continuing the evolution of the platform to meet the changing needs of non-aligned dealers, advisers and their clients.”

Centrepoint’s managed account solution, vMAPs, has released a new range of high quality investment models with two of the world’s leading asset managers, Dimensional and Russell Investments, to complement its successful Ventura/Ibbotson models.

Centrepoint’s Group Executive for Investment Solutions, Mat Walker, said, “We have been able to bring world class investment managers to the table with Ibbotson/Morningstar, Dimensional, and Russell Investments.

“This will assist advisers to deliver client investment objectives and support an increase in adviser engagement with their clients in terms of lifestyle goals and strategy,” Mr Walker added.

“The investment models are underpinned by the internationally recognised managed account technology provider Praemium, who have just been named ‘International Platform of the Year’ at the International Adviser Product and Service Awards 2016.

“This follows on from their Australian Lonsec SMA Platform of the Year Award’ 2014,” he said.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Centrepoint,” said Dimensional Australia CEO Glenn Crane.

“Like us, they’re focused on great outcomes for advisers and their clients. The Ventura/Dimensional managed account program helps us do that together by efficiently delivering an evidence-based, cost-effective investment solution.”

Dimensional has over 35 years’ experience in bringing evidence based academic research to real world portfolios.
