Independent stockbroking company, OpenMarkets Australia, has announced the appointment of Leo Lopez as Head of Sales.   The appointment comes as OpenMarkets reports strong demand for it’s low fee, execution and trading services.

CEO Rick Klink said the service was finding particular traction with professional investors and wealth advisory groups, who were integrating OpenMarkets into their client offerings.

“OpenMarkets has signed six wealth advisory groups to its equities trading service since its launch late last year – a number that’s expected to grow with the addition of Mr Lopez and launch of options trading in March 2014.

“The appointment of Leo comes at a crucial time and we are extremely pleased that someone with his experience and calibre is now part of the OpenMarkets team,” Mr Klink said.

Mr Lopez joins OpenMarkets following five years at E*Trade, with his most recent role as Senior Business Development Manager of its wholesale stockbroking and margin lending division.

As Head of Sales he will be responsible for the development and growth of the company’s wholesale stockbroking business, which provides financial wealth advisory groups and other intermediaries with low-cost execution and trading services.

Mr Klink added, “Leo brings an impressive track record in stockbroking sales which will significantly drive OpenMarkets growth.”

Mr Lopez joined OpenMarkets in January 2014 and will be based in Sydney.
