The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) is showing its support for victims of the Queensland floods with the offer of free financial advice to affected residents.

The FPA has established the Financial Planning Pro-Bono Referral Service to connect people affected by the floods with a local financial planner.

Flood victims wishing to seek advice regarding their current financial situation can call 1300 626 393 or visit www.fpa.asn.au to arrange to speak with a financial planner free of charge and begin to rebuild their lives and financial strength.

“We’re encouraging people affected by the floods and who want financial advice, to call the referral service to ensure they get quality advice at a time when it is needed the most,” FPA CEO Mark Rantall said.

“It is important to the FPA and our members to be able to support flood victims and the best way for us to do this is by providing free, professional advice to help people get back on their feet at a time when many are struggling to cope with the loss of homes, personal possessions and probably their financial records.

“Our members have been quick to volunteer their services and we are pleased to be able to help Queenslanders in need.”
