SuperFriend, the workplace wellbeing partner of the superannuation and insurance industry, has announced several appointments to newly created roles across its Executive Leadership Team, as part of its wider expansion plans.

External appointments include Sandy MacLeod (GM – Insurance Solutions) in Sydney, and Keir Paterson (GM – Superannuation and Workplace Solutions), Glenn Cassidy (GM – People, Technology and Enablement), and Dina Goebel (GM – Innovative Solutions) in Melbourne.

In addition, former Head of Marketing and Communications, Danielle Clarke, has been promoted to GM – Impact, Communications and Insights, elevating SuperFriend’s research program and marketing function.

Tambelin Boykin also joins the growing Sydney office as Partner Communications Manager. Tambelin joins from Social Ventures Australia and will be responsible for executing strategic communications and stakeholder engagement programs with Partners.

The changes come as some of SuperFriend’s key financial services partners have expressed the need for more targeted workplace mental health and wellbeing support for staff and members in the wake of protracted industry challenges and reviews, including the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry.

Commenting on the latest appointments, Margo Lydon, CEO of SuperFriend said: “With our enhanced executive leadership team, we’re feeling extremely positive about SuperFriend’s future and the opportunities we are creating with our Partners to reach a greater number of Australian workplaces.

“The new Executive team will help us further support Australian employers to improve mental health and wellbeing of their workers through more evidence-informed solutions, delivered in innovative ways, to suit changing work patterns and emerging needs. We are delighted to welcome such a talented and diverse group of leaders to the team.”

Sandy MacLeod (GM – Insurance Solutions) joins from CommInsure where he worked as Senior Product Manager (Group). He has a broad range of experience within life insurance and super, in relationship management, distribution and technical roles.

Keir Paterson (GM – Superannuation and Workplace Solutions) has spent the last decade with Mercer in a variety of senior superannuation roles. Keir was most recently responsible for working with some of Australia’s largest employers to oversee service delivery, retain and grow client portfolios.

Glenn Cassidy (GM – People, Technology and Enablement) has over two decades’ experience in commercial and not-for-profit sector roles, including almost 10 years as a Director in various divisions at World Vision International, a global humanitarian aid organisation.

Dina Goebel (GM – Innovative Solutions) is a growth strategist with a passion for data-led innovation. She’s held several senior roles with organisations including Swinburne University, Australian Unity and Bupa ANZ.
