Sophie brings more than 12 years of financial services experience spanning business development, sales and communications. She joins Ausbil from Antipodes, where she was responsible for intermediary sales across Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania.

In her new role at Ausbil, Sophie will be responsible for developing and servicing Ausbil’s relationships with financial advisers, licensees, dealer groups, private wealth firms and other wholesale clients throughout Victoria and Tasmania. She will report through to Fawaz Rashid, Head of Wholesale Sales, ex North America at Ausbil.

“Sophie brings a strong combination of adviser relationship management, commercial discipline and communication skills,” said Rashid. “Her business development experience will add significant depth to our team. We are very pleased to welcome Sophie as we continue to service our wholesale clients across the southern region of Australia.”

Before joining Antipodes, Sophie held roles with Schroder Investment Management and Fidelity International across Australia and the United Kingdom. Her experience includes wholesale distribution, adviser servicing, strategic account management, investment communications and the development of data-led sales and client-engagement strategies.

Ms Metcalfe joins from Schroders where she was a business development account manager. Prior to this she was partnerships manager with Livewire Markets. She also spent six years at Fidelity International in the UK and Sydney in account management and marketing roles. Prior to this she worked with Perpetual and Anittel in marketing and events roles.

Mr Srinivasan says Ms Metcalfe brings to the role over a decade’s worth of experience in marketing and distribution across a broad range of financial service enterprises.

“Sophie has strong technical knowledge and a good understanding of the needs of financial advisers. These strong links, and her reputation for delivering outstanding service to the financial advice community, make her an excellent choice for the role,” Mr Srinivasan said.

In her new role, Ms Metcalfe will work with Mr Srinivasan and the broader distribution team to cultivate strong relationships with advisers across the country and in so doing, increase awareness of Maple-Brown Abbott’s capabilities across asset classes. 

“Sophie’s work with the Schroders Investment Education Community in particular demonstrates her ability to communicate and work with financial advisers by delivering valuable insights,” Mr Srinivasan said.

Ms Metcalfe has a Bachelor of Commerce, Management & Business Law from the University of Technology, Sydney.

She commenced with Maple-Brown Abbott on 18 March.
