Expanding its institutional investor offering to the Australian market, Nikko Asset Management, Asia’s premier global asset manager, has launched the Nikko AM Absolute Return Fund (the Fund), the company announced yesterday.

The Nikko AM Absolute Return Fund aims to provide equity like market returns while minimising the risk of negative returns.

The Fund is managed by Robert Mann, a Singapore-based fund manager with approximately 30 years of experience in the securities industry across Australia and Asia, and an extensive background in fixed income research and management.“We are very pleased to be expanding our offering to Australian institutional investors with the Nikko AM Absolute Return Fund,” said Robert Mann, Portfolio Manager of the Nikko AM Absolute Return Fund. “This Fund, with its broad range of asset classes including Asian equities and Asian bonds, further reinforces the strategic advantage we bring to institutional clients, borne out of our global outlook and Asian insights”.

With over 14 years’ industry experience, most recently as Director- Head of National Key Accounts with Blackrock Investment Management, Mr Bluzmanis will oversee Nikko Asset Management’s relationships with financial institutions.

Mr Bluzmanis will report to Vincent Lo Blanco, Head of Distribution at Nikko Asset Management Australia.
