Hire expands the firm’s client analytics presence in Sydney
PIMCO, a leading global investment management firm, has appointed Dr. Laura Ryan as Vice President, Client Analytics, based in Sydney. Dr. Ryan will develop models and research related to client problems and solutions including asset allocation, risk factor budgeting, dynamic strategies, as well as product development and channel-specific issues. She will jointly report to Robert Mead, Managing Director and Portfolio Manager, Sydney and Sebastien Page, Executive Vice
President and Global Head of Client Analytics, based in PIMCO’s office in Newport Beach, California. “Laura will enhance our client analytics infrastructure in Australia which will help clients solve their topdown investment challenges around asset and risk allocation while providing customisation for local issues facing super funds,” said Mr. Mead. He added: “Laura brings significant experience, as well as a demonstrated track record as a thought leader.”
PIMCO’s Analytics group develops frameworks for return forecasting, risk management, relative value analysis, and portfolio optimisation. These frameworks complement PIMCO’s investment process, spanning individual security and broad asset class analysis, and also underpin the advisory and specialised analytic solutions services we provide to clients. Client Analytics uses PIMCO’s views and portfolio management technologies to provide clients with customized asset allocation and risk analyses that lead to actionable recommendations. The team also produces bespoke research on asset allocation.
