He has also held positions at CIBC World Markets, Bloomberg, and ANZ, working in London, New York, Edinburgh, Dublin and Sydney.
In Victoria, BetaShares has responded to investor demand by bolstering its Melbourne team with the appointment of Blair Modica as Business Development Manager. Mr Modica brings five years of experience in financial services, joining from Macquarie Bank, where he held the role of Senior Associate in the distribution team.
“Our latest appointments reflect the growth of our business and increased client servicing demand across the country, and brings additional strength and experience to our already well-credentialed team,” said Alex Vynokur, Chief Executive Officer of BetaShares.
Queensland expansion
In addition to growth in New South Wales and Victoria, BetaShares has recently established presence in Queensland, with the opening of a new Brisbane office and the appointment of Craig Higson as National Manager, Adviser Services.
Mr Higson joins BetaShares from SuperConcepts, where he held the role of SMSF Solutions Manager. Prior to that, Mr Higson was Regional Manager of Queensland for Russell Investments. He also held roles at Citi and Aviva.
“The opening of the new office in Brisbane is a great milestone for the business and reflects our strong commitment to education and client service across the country” Mr Vynokur added.
The appointments build on a strong 2017, which saw BetaShares’ funds under management surpass the $5 billion mark, the launch of seven new funds and receiving the honour of being awarded, for the second year in a row, ‘Australian ETF Manager of the Year’ by Zenith and Professional Planner.
“Since the launch of our first ETFs in December 2010, our business has evolved considerably and we now offer the broadest range of exchange traded funds in Australia, providing solutions for a wide range of investor needs,” added Mr Vynokur.
