AMP has announced changes to the AMP Limited executive team in preparation for the separation and demerger of the AMP Capital Private Markets business next year.
AMP Chief Executive, Alexis George confirmed the following changes:
- AMP Bank: Given the future strategic focus on growth in the bank, the role of AMP Bank’s Managing Director will be elevated to the Executive Committee, with Sean O’Malley, the current incumbent, reporting directly to Ms George as Group Executive, AMP Bank. Sean has over 25 years’ banking experience and joined AMP from Westpac in 2013. Since then, he has served in technology, operations and customer-facing roles within the bank, including as Chief Operating Officer, prior to his appointment as Managing Director in April 2021.
- Technology: AMP will appoint a new Chief Technology Officer to join the Executive Committee, reporting to Ms George. This decision reflects the critical role digital, data and technology will play in AMP’s future service and operating model. An executive search for this role is underway, with both internal and external candidates being considered.
- People & Corporate Affairs: After five years as a member of the executive team, most recently leading People & Corporate Affairs, Helen Livesey will be leaving AMP later this year. Highly respected within the company, Helen has played an important leadership role through challenging circumstances, supporting AMP’s response to the global pandemic and resetting its cultural agenda.
Current Group Director, People & Culture, Rebecca Nash, has been appointed as Chief People Officer and will join the Executive Committee after a period of handover and transition with Helen Livesey. Rebecca joined AMP in April 2020 and has more than 25 years’ corporate experience, working across People & Culture and strategy-focused roles, including as Group Executive, People & Culture at Perpetual Limited.
