Franklin Templeton has announced the appointment of Oliver Britton as Business Development Manager based in Sydney, Australia.
Britton joins the firm from Perpetual Asset Management where he was Key Account Manager, Wholesale Distribution. Prior to his role at Perpetual, Britton was a Client Management Specialist at UBS in London.
Franklin Templeton’s Managing Director and Head of Australia and New Zealand, Felicity Walsh said Britton’s appointment was part of the firm’s overall plans to grow its team to meet the needs of the evolving advice market in Australia.
“Britton understands this market well. In previous roles he has developed strong business relationships and is a well-respected distribution professional,” Walsh said.
Britton moved to Australia from the UK in 2019 when he joined Perpetual Asset Management as an Account Manager, before being promoted to Key Account Manager in 2021.
Britton has a Certificate in ESG investing from the CFA UK and a former committee member of the Australia-China Young Professionals Initiative (ACYPI), a platform which connects young professionals and entrepreneurs to opportunities between the two countries.
“His global experience and understanding will also be an asset for Franklin Templeton, as will Britton’s interest in sustainable investing,” Walsh added.
“I am thrilled to be joining Franklin Templeton, an asset manager with a vast global presence and a stellar reputation. I look forward to working with both new and existing clients to help them understand the unique investment strategies that Franklin Templeton can deliver them,” Britton said.
“Franklin Templeton’s partnership model in Australia, where it has acquired a number of specialist investment managers, is particularly interesting and innovative,” he said.
