Schroders appoints George Katopis as business development manager

Schroders has appointed George Katopis as business development manager, effective from 21 October 2024.

Mr Katopis will be based in Melbourne, covering the wider Victorian, South Australian and Tasmanian regions and will report to the head of intermediary, Jude Fernandez.

Mr Katopis joins from Perennial Partners where he was a Regional Manager – Southern States, a position he held for two years. He previously worked as a senior investment specialist for six years.

Prior to this, Mr Katopis was a business development manager at BT Financial Group and has served in similar roles at the Commonwealth Bank including CommSec Adviser Services, Core Equity Services and Colonial Geared Investments.

Mr Fernandez says that Mr Katopis’ extensive experience will be an asset to the wider Schroders team as it broadens its footprint in the intermediary market.

“George has almost two decades’ experience in business development roles across the financial services industry. We look forward to welcoming him to the team and I am confident his wide-ranging knowledge and skills will have an immediate impact, for both the business and the adviser clients we serve.” Mr Fernandez said.

“With strong relationships and a proven track record in managing and maintaining intermediary relationships, investment and distribution strategy, fund management and private wealth management, George is a great fit for this role.

Mr Katopis has a Bachelor of Business, sales and marketing from Victoria University, and a Professional Diploma in Stockbroking.
