Bell Financial Group appoints industry veteran to Bell Potter

Bell Financial Group Limited (ASX:BFG) has announced the appointment of Phil Schofield as a Director in Bell Potter’s corporate finance team based in Sydney.

He joins from Pengana Capital Markets where he was Managing Director.

Bell Financial Group Head of Corporate Finance James Unger said Mr Schofield brought a wealth of experience to the role and would be an asset to Bell Potter’s corporate clients.

‘Phil has over 30 years of capital markets and advisory experience and sound judgement,’ Mr Unger said.

‘His deep expertise in structuring successful deals, combined with his extensive network, make him an excellent addition to our team as we continue to grow and strengthen our corporate advisory capability.’

Bell Potter’s corporate finance team is among Australia’s top four equity capital markets facilitators, according to LSEG’s league tables[1].

The team has executed 70 transactions and raised $1.227 billion in capital for businesses this year (through to end of September).

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Schofield said, ‘I’m looking forward to working with our clients as they navigate strategic growth opportunities and capital raising initiatives.’

Mr Schofield’s previous roles have included Director at McIntosh Securities, Managing Director and Co-Head of Equity Sales at Citibank/Salomon Smith Barney/County NatWest, Executive Director and Head of Global Sales at Goldman Sachs Australia, Executive Director and Head of Equities at Patersons Securities, and Executive Director at Canaccord Genuity.
