UBS GWM appoints Wayne Gordon as Head of Advisory & Sales, Australia

Wayne Gordon

Australia is a key pillar of our APAC growth strategy, and we continue to strengthen our footprint and on-the-ground capabilities to support this ambition.

In line with this, we are pleased to announce that Wayne Gordon will be appointed as GWM Australia Head of Advisory & Sales (A&S), effective 1 July 2026.

Wayne, a returning Australian, will be relocating from Singapore to Sydney, reporting to Andrew Bird, Head of GWM Australia. He will also have secondary reporting into Jasmine Koh, Head of Advisory & Sales GWM South East Asia (SEA) & Japan India Australia (JIA) as we seek to further leverage regional capabilities into our Australia franchise.
This appointment reflects our continued commitment to Australia as a strategic market and reinforces our focus on building a strong, locally-led franchise to deliver sustainable, client-driven growth.

Wayne brings over two decades of experience across global markets, spanning portfolio management, investment research, and client advisory.

During his 12 years at UBS, he has established a strong track record within the Chief Investment Office (CIO), most notably covering Commodities.

He is also widely respected across the platform through his current role as Head of Investment Advisory and Content in CIO, where he has represented CIO across the UBS value chain in close collaboration with A&S to translate CIO views into relevant client solutions.

Wayne’s extensive network across key stakeholders in the Hong Kong and Singapore hubs, as well as globally, will be instrumental in further integrating the Australia business into the broader regional and global platform.

In addition, he will play a pivotal role in driving solutions across our business divisions, ensuring that our clients benefit from a seamless and truly integrated OneUBS experience.

Prior to joining UBS Wealth Management, Wayne held roles including co-manager of a long/short multi-asset commodities fund in Australia, Senior Commodity Strategist at UBS Investment Bank in New York, and Senior Economist at Rabobank International and the Australian Federal Treasury.
