Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) has appointed Garreth Innes as the Head of Australian Fixed Income. 

Garreth joined the Australian fixed income team in 2011 and has over ten years’ industry experience. He has a strong background in macro credit strategy and global asset allocation, coupled with extensive research experience across investment grade and high yield corporates. Garreth’s promotion signifies stronger local fixed income leadership while maintaining a robust regional investment management framework under Adam McCabe, Head of Fixed Income – Asia and Australia. 

Based in Sydney, Garreth will lead an experienced team to manage Australian fixed income portfolios with an active investment approach driven by fundamental research, while contributing local market insights to ASI’s global fixed income mandates. Leveraging an integrated global platform which offers deep macro and credit research insights, significant regional resources as well as strong local expertise, the team is well positioned to deliver superior investment outcomes for investors.

Amanda Chong

Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) has strengthened its Australian Fixed Income team with the appointment of Amanda Chong as Investment Manager focusing on credit.

Amanda has more than 20 years’ experience with a strong credit background in investment research and lending across risk, funds management, debt capital markets, commercial banking and structured finance.

Prior to her appointment Amanda spent nearly 12 years with Susquehanna International Group in senior research roles having previously held research and analyst positions with St George Bank, UBS Group and Maple-Brown Abbott.

Her valuable knowledge and experience investing in Australia and major markets in Asia, from investment-grade to subordinated and distressed debt of corporates both large and small, will further diversify and enhance the skill set of the existing team.

Based in Sydney, Amanda joins an experienced local team which is able to leverage a global footprint and significant regional resources. ASI’s integrated global platform draws on knowledge, insights, macro analysis and offshore credit research to ensure the delivery of strong outcomes for clients.
