Leading bond fund manager PIMCO Australia has today announced the appointment of Michael Dale as Investment Specialist, servicing the retail market, including financial planners, as it looks to expand its retail presence in the Australian market.
Mr Dale will work with Peter Dorrian, Head of Global Wealth Management, to increase understanding of the value of fixed interest for investors in retirement, and will also target the expansion of PIMCO’s presence in the retail platform and wrap markets.
“Michael Dale is a welcome addition to the team as we look to expand the retail side of our business, including our relationships with dealer groups and our presence on platforms and wraps, in the Australian marketplace,” said Mr Dorrian.
Mr Dale was previously a treasury dealer working in the Fixed Interest/Money Market sales team at Suncorp Metway where he worked for three and half years. His role included driving the liability funding of the bank’s assets, sales of treasury products to institutional clients and participation in roadshows with management and industry experts.
Michael has a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics from the University of Sydney, a Diploma of Financial Services from the Australian Financial Markets Association and is about to commence a Masters of Applied Finance at Macquarie University.
Mr Dale replaces Matthew McLenaghan who has been appointed to a role within PIMCO Australia’s institutional business as Consultant Relations Manager.
