AMP Capital Investors continues to build capability within its Multi Asset Group with the appointment of two senior hires, Debbie Alliston as Head of Portfolio Management and Silvana Lau as Senior Investment Manager Client Solutions.
Established in November 2009, the Multi Asset Group is a specialist division within AMP Capital, which packages multi-asset, multi-strategy solutions with a risk management and asset allocation advisory service, tailored to client requirements.
By leveraging expertise across the Group, over 30 investment professionals deliver more targeted and effective outcomes for clients in terms of asset allocation, portfolio construction and design, risk management and investment research.
AMP Capital’s Investment Director, Multi-Manager and Investment Solutions Sean Henaghan said Debbie and Silvana were invaluable additions to the Multi Asset Group.
“We continue to expand the depth of our Multi Asset Group capabilities to meet the increasing demand for tailored investment solutions. Debbie and Silvana will have an integral role tailoring solutions for our clients,” said Mr Henaghan.
“Our clients can access the broad capabilities of the Multi Asset Group, including Asset Allocation, Multi Manager and Investment Solutions, Structured Products, Alternative Assets and other asset classes.”
As Head of Portfolio Management Debbie Alliston will oversee the management of the Multi Asset Fund and will also work to further our approach to portfolio management in the team. Debbie has been with Apostle Asset Management as an Investment Director since 2007, responsible for the management of the ongoing affiliate program including investment due diligence and manager selection and review and leading the client servicing effort. From 2005 to 2007 she was Head of Investments at BT Financial Group (formerly Rothschild Asset Management) where she was charged with the management of the BT investment team. Debbie has held a range of other positions with BT over a 16 year period, including
Chief Operating Officer Investment Management and Director Head of Portfolio Management. She has also held roles with Bankers Trust Investment Management in the United Kingdom and Equitilink Australia.
In the role of Senior Investment Manager Client Solutions Silvana Lau will be responsible for developing tailored investment solutions to clients. Silvana has over 17 years experience as a global investment specialist with expertise in advising clients across the spectrum on investment strategy, global strategic and tactical asset allocation, portfolio construction, alternative investments, fund strategies, risk management and quantitative analysis and research.
Most recently Silvana was Senior Product Manager, Vice President, Asset Management with Goldman Sachs Asset Management in New York where she was responsible for portfolio construction, asset allocation and model portfolio development for institutions and private clients. Prior to this, Silvana held several senior roles with ING Investment Management from 1996 to 2006. Silvana has also held roles with Commonwealth Funds Management, Westpac Investment Management and CS First Boston.
Both Debbie and Silvana will report to Sean Henaghan and they start with AMP Capital 7 February 2011 and 31 January 2011 respectively.
