AFA Rising Star finalists announced

The six finalists for the 2011 AFA Rising Star of the Year Award represent the most talented new financial advisers in the industry.

The AFA Rising Star of the Year Award (The Award) sponsored by OnePath, recognises up-and-coming advisers who provide quality, holistic advice; who demonstrate a commitment to education and who make a valuable contribution to their industry and to their community.

“The Rising Star Award allows us to shine the light across Australia to identify and recognise some of our best and brightest advisers,” AFA chief executive Richard Klipin said. “We are extremely proud of past finalists and winners, many of whom now sit on the AFA Board and Committees. I look forward to seeing what path this year’s Finalists take.”

The 2011 Rising Star Finalists are:

  • Nicholas Brian – Complete Risk Analysis (VIC)
  • Marion Gaertner – Elders Financial Planning (SA)
  • Matt Hale – Financial Design for Life (VIC)
  • Finn Kelly – Wealth Enhancers (VIC)
  • Ali Mohammed – Planet Insurance and Financial Planning (VIC)
  • Mark Rattigan – Merideon Wealth Strategies (WA)

“The Award recognises the industry’s finest emerging talent and we believe that nurturing new talent is the key to sustaining the industry’s growth,” said Gerard Kerr, OnePath’s Head of Retail Insurance Products and Marketing.
