Rating on AMP Capital Sustainable Share Fund unaffected by change
Standard & Poor’s Fund Services today announced the two-star rating on the AMP Capital Sustainable Share Fund is unaffected following AMP Capital Investors’ decision to merge its sustainable and capital equity teams into a new Australian fundamental team headed by Ella Brown.
Ms Brown joined AMP Capital Investors in August, and has over 21 years of equity strategy, portfolio management, and research experience. Her team includes new recruits Michael Price and Gian Pandit as senior portfolio managers and Philip Hudak as portfolio manager and analyst. All three are joining from ING Investment Management. There were also a number of departures from the AMP Capital team as a result of the changes.
Mr Price will assume portfolio management responsibilities of the AMP Capital Sustainable Share Fund in early 2012. In the interim period, Jonas Palmqvist, portfolio manager for the AMP Capital Equity Fund will oversee the management of the fund.
Dr Ian Woods will continue to head the AMP Capital’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) team, which includes Mans Carlsson-Sweeny and Karin Halliday.
“We believe Mr Price and Mr Pandit are positive additions to the team, as both had managed multiple Australian equity products at ING. They will bring complementary skills to the AMP Capital team, specifically Mr. Pandit’s trading and option strategy skills,” said S&P fund analyst Justine Gorman.
“After a number of restructures within AMP Capital’s team over the past few years, we would like to see the team finally settle, so it can focus on delivery of investor returns,” said Ms Gorman.
