Equity Trustees appoints new Estate Planning Solicitor

Equity Trustees Limited (EQT) has further strengthened its national Estate Planning team with the appointment of Stephanie Smith as a West Australian estate planning solicitor based in Perth. It is the first time Equity Trustees has offered a local estate planning service in West Australia and Equity Trustees plans to make further appointments here.

Ms Smith has held positions at organisations such as HHG Legal Group and, most recently, National Australia Trustees where she was Estate Planning Manager.

She will be reporting to the Equity Trustees National Estate Planning Manager, Anna Hacker.

“With over eight years’ experience as a solicitor, Stephanie’s appointment comes at a time of growth for the Estate Planning division. Her appointment increases the depth of our estate planning capabilities,” Ms Hacker said.

“Our continuing business growth is a result of an increased need for estate planning solutions by retired Australians. Their need is for more sophisticated and tailored solutions than were previously necessary for this cohort and recognises the importance of the Perth market to Equity Trustees.

“Stephanie has over eight years’ experience as a solicitor specialising in estate planning. Her skillset is a welcome addition to Equity Trustees as it prepares itself for its next phase of growth for its Estate Planning division.

Ms Smith holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Management and Finance from Murdoch University and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Notre Dame. Ms Smith is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
