AFA and ANZ Wealth search for the next Rising Star

Nominations are now open for the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) Rising Star of the Year Award (the Award), proudly supported by ANZ Wealth for the 11th year.

AFA CEO and 2008 Rising Star, Brad Fox said the AFA and ANZ Wealth have a deep commitment to shining a light on emerging talent within the financial advice profession. “The Award celebrates excellence in the advice industry and recognises the next generation of financial advisers,” he said. “As the industry undergoes a period of rapid change, attracting, developing and recognising newer financial advisers who are excelling is more important than ever.”

Mr Fox said the future of the advice profession depends on attracting quality, principled people to the role of financial adviser and supporting them to become leading professionals.

“Being nominated for the Award is an important step in recognition of an individual’s progression of their career. We encourage advisers to participate in the Award to aid their own further development. We also encourage licensees to nominate rising stars in their network.”

ANZ Global Wealth’s Managing Director, Aligned and Open Market Channels, Neil Younger, said, the AFA Rising Star Award is the pre-eminent award for talented new advisers in the financial services industry. “As part of the judging process, it also offers an opportunity for nominees to meet with other really impressive up-and-coming advice professionals and learn from each other.”

The 2015 AFA Rising Star will:

  • showcase how they are bringing innovation to the provision of their advice
  • demonstrate a commitment to their ongoing professional development
  • have been responsible for providing personal financial advice for less than three years
  • be based in a practice, either as an employee or as a principal
  • demonstrate they provide quality financial advice
  • prove they deliver an exceptional client experience
  • be contributing to the financial literacy of their clients and perhaps the community
  • have the X factor that makes them a Rising Star

Nominations for the Award, which closes on 17 July, can be made here. The winner will be announced at the AFA National Adviser Conference in October 2015.
