BetaShares expands distribution team following record ETF market growth

BetaShares, a leading Australian manager of exchange traded funds, has announced the appointment of Tania Smyth as National Manager – Adviser Services.

With over 15 years’ experience in financial services, Ms Smyth joins the BetaShares Adviser Services team, supporting financial advisers in their adoption of ETFs in client portfolios.

Ms Smyth has extensive experience in equities and derivatives markets. Prior to joining BetaShares, she has held senior equity derivative distribution roles with Commonwealth Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN AMRO to intermediaries and institutional clients.

BetaShares latest appointment follows substantial team growth by BetaShares, including the recent appointments of Thomas Reif as Head of Quantitative Research and Portfolio Manager; Matthew Reeves as Compliance Manager; Sarah Hare as BetaShares’ Marketing Manager; David Whitby as Account Manager, and the promotion of Louis Crous from to the position of Chief Investment Officer.

“The ETF market in Australia increased by $1.3 billion in total funds under management last month, the strongest monthly growth that’s been recorded to the date,” said BetaShares Managing Director Alex Vynokur.

“This newly created role has been designed both in response to the fast growth of the ETF industry and to deepen the company’s commitment to support Australian financial advisers through ETF education and client service.
