AFA CEO Brad Fox said, “Recent polling of our members indicated that they want us to work to educate the public about financial advisers and the value of financial advice. With almost half of the magazine’s content contributed by AFA members, we believe The Really Simple Guide to Money will help do just that.”

AFA members will be able to provide clients with a free e-version of the magazine, which features finance experts, media personalities and Adviser Ratings shareholders David and Libby Koch on the front cover.

Mr Fox said the publication is a significant part of the AFA’s Your Best Interests (YBI) initiative, which is designed to educate the public about their finances, the value of financial advice and the positive experience of seeing a financial adviser.

“The YBI television program that aired in July reached an audience of 1.35 million,” Mr Fox said. “As a result, YBI has featured in a number of mainstream magazines and online publications reaching nearly another million Australians already. Lifestyle publications like Mens Health, female.com.au, Huffington Post, The Daily Telegraph, Starts at Sixty and Practical Parenting. It is initiatives like The Really Simple Guide to Money and YBI which will help consumers better understand the difference financial advisers can make to improving their financial situation.”

The Really Simple Guide to Money is available in newsagents and online from Monday 26 October. All AFA Members will receive a copy sent directly to them.
