In response to a growing demand for access to some of some of the world’s most dynamic global trading markets OneVue yesterday launched an International Equities capability for its separately managed accounts (SMA) service.

Advisers and investors can now access Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) that invest directly in companies listed across eight securities exchanges including Europe, the United States, Asia and New Zealand.

The first investment managers to have signed up for the LUMINOUS international service are Watershed Funds Management and Fat Prophets.

Watershed Funds Management is a fast growing Melbourne-based fund manager that invests through its International managed portfolio in high-quality global businesses listed on major global stock exchanges. The Watershed International managed portfolio has generated 18.7% in returns since inception in 2010. “The launch of the international separately managed account is exciting for us as clients appreciate the ability to see which international securities that they own,” said Watershed Chief Investment Officer Adrian Rowley. This development completes the picture for us in managing all asset classes in a scalable efficient manner using OneVue’s blended model capability.”
Fat Prophets through its digital footprint Super Prophets will transition its four International Model Portfolios across covering Asia, Europe, North America and Global (which invests in MSCI listed global companies such as Wells Fargo and Alphabet Inc (Google).

“International stocks provide investors with exposure to themes not always available in Australia”, said Fat Prophets CEO and founder Angus Geddes. We have now made available on Super Prophets our four international equity portfolios in partnership with OneVue.”

Other leading investment managers will soon be added to expanding the OneVue International managed portfolio service now available on the LUMINOUS platform.

“We didn’t want to just launch an international share capability, we wanted to offer professionally managed portfolios that genuinely give Australian investors easy access to investing in globally-listed companies,” said Lisa McCallum, Head of Platform Services at OneVue.

“We have had significant demand from our advisers, who say investors are looking for direct international exposure which offers them transparency. They want to see clearly which investments they hold, which is what an SMA delivers.”
OneVue will look to extend its international offering in the next few months, to include direct international investing options to investors.

The new international facility on LUMINOUS makes accessing professional fund managers easier, offering tax efficiencies and transparency of underlying investment ownership at an affordable fee.

“Adding the International managed portfolio capability also further enhances our ability to blend managed portfolio packages, which provide advisers with choices across various sector models combining ASX Listed Securities, Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), Managed funds and International Listed Securities,” said Ms McCallum.
