BT leads the way at FSC awards

From

Scott Moffitt

BT congratulates Head of Life Operations Scott Moffitt, winner of the Industry Leader award at the Financial Services Council Life Insurance Industry Awards in Sydney last night.

The Industry Leader award honours an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to innovative thinking to transform the life insurance industry, to meet the challenges of the next generation.

With a track record of developing innovative products and services, Mr Moffitt has over the years led the creation of market-leading solutions that meet customers’ needs. Some examples in BT’s Protection Plans offering – such as flexible product structuring, fee for service offering, income protection for key persons of businesses as well as homemakers, and changes to terminal illness payments that were a first in the retail market – demonstrate Mr Moffitt’s forward thinking.

Mr Moffitt said: “I am honoured to be recognised as a leader within such a high-performing team at BT, and in an industry that helps Australians in their time of need. The life insurance team at BT has a clear focus on what’s best for the customer. It is our staunch belief in the good that life insurance can do for customers that drives us to continually improve and innovate.”

BT was also recognised for its research into improving health outcomes for customers, winning the Industry Research award.

The award recognises leadership and innovative thinking in an area of research that seeks to enhance the reputation, innovation or development of the insurance industry and its customers, products and services.

BT’s research provides an evidence base for the first year in operation of the industry-first Health Outcome Measure (HOM), a tool that tracks the overall improvement in a customer’s health and wellbeing following participation in a health support program. HOM measures the drop in a customer’s health due to a claimed event and then seeks to bridge that gap through active support and stakeholder engagement, to help them on their journey to wellness and return to work.
