Referrals to Synchron Medical quadruple in 12 months

Referrals to Synchron Medical, a service established to help Synchron advisers manage and monitor medical requirements for insurance clients, have more than quadrupled in a 12-month period.

“In 2015, there were 550 referrals to Synchron Medical from Synchron advisers. In 2016 there were 2,270,” said Synchron director, Don Trapnell. “That is a phenomenal increase which demonstrates that Synchron advisers are finding the service highly valuable.”

Launched in 2012, Synchron Medical is an Australia-wide service which offers high quality management of pathology, paramedical and medical assessments for the life insurance industry. Powered by medical and pathology service, Health Predictions, it allows advisers to monitor the collection of medical information for life insurance clients and to request, track and monitor the status of client medical tests and information online.

“We have had all the insurance companies on board since inception and believe increasing use of the service means advisers enjoy having more visibility over their clients’ insurance applications,” Mr Trapnell said.

Synchron Medical can be used for a range of services from blood tests through to specialist medical examinations and Personal Medical Attendant Reports (PMARs)

“Synchron does not view Synchron Medical as a profit generating venture, but as an additional service we can offer our advisers. We therefore made the decision to share any profit from the referrals with the advisers using the service.”

Synchron Medical also offers a range of corporate and executive health services for all professions and industries, including:

  • Corporate health programmes
  • Executive health programmes
  • Immunisation programmes
  • Training programmes including seminars, lectures and demonstrations
  • Workshops on health promotion and management.
  • Online Health Management Programmes

“We believe Synchron Medical is an industry-leading initiative and judging by the increased uptake in the service, it seems our advisers agree with us,” Mr Trapell said.
