Bell Asset Management hits three-year milestone with Bell Global Emerging Companies Fund

Global equities boutique manager, Bell Asset Management (BAM), has hit a key milestone with its Global Small and Mid-Cap offering, Bell Global Emerging Companies Fund, reaching a 3-year track record.
The Bell Global Emerging Companies Fund has been rated by both Lonsec and Zenith research houses and invests in a diversified portfolio of 35 – 55 global small and mid-capitalised (Global SMID) companies in a variety of regions around the world including North America, Europe and Asia.
Bell Asset Management conducts more than 500 annual company meetings across the globe per year to uncover overlooked and unloved stocks including companies within the SMID subsector
Commenting on the milestone, Ned Bell, Chief Investment Officer said he was pleased with the Fund’s performance to date and that the SMID cap sub-sector was still full of hidden opportunities for investors who knew where to look.
“Bell Asset Management has been researching and investing in global SMID stocks since 2003 and over this time, we have developed a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the SMID cap landscape.
“Since launching the Bell Global Emerging Companies Fund in June 2016, we have outperformed the MSCI World SMID Cap benchmark, highlighting our depth of knowledge in this area and our robustness and ability to perform well in periods of heightened volatility.

“We have been seeing increased investor interest in our global equities strategies which can be attributed to BAM’s success and proven track record of delivering in times of market volatility and uncertainty.
“In our view, Global SMID stocks should play an important growth role in global portfolios because they have less valuation risk than large cap growth stocks, less absolute risk than emerging markets and less liquidity risk than small caps.
An allocation to global SMID allows investors to complement and diversity their mega and large cap exposure within a global equity portfolio,” Mr Bell added.
Bell Asset Management is led by investment veteran Ned Bell. Ned and his investment team have been managing global equities since 2003.
