In November last year, Chant West shared its concerns about the Your Future Your Super (YFYS) performance test, arguing that it failed to measure what was important for member outcomes and that its application had adverse, unintended consequences.
At that time, Chant West committed to working to find a solution to the problems highlighted, and recently conducted detailed research and analysis into a viable alternative to the YFYS performance test.
Their research paper explores:
- the proposed alternate metrics and how they would work in practice
- the advantages of using these metrics
- the test outcomes if these metrics were applied, and
- Chant West’s views on the suitability of the test for choice and retirement income products.
