Private credit fund manager adds industry veterans to Advisory Committee

Private credit fund manager, Msquared Capital, today announced it has bolstered its Advisory Committee, with the appointments of Michael Dwyer AM and Mark Hickey.

The two well-known industry leaders join Msquared Capital at a time when the private credit sector has seen a strong growth trajectory worldwide as the reluctance of traditional lenders to lend has widened the opportunity set for investors.

Total assets in private credit have nearly doubled since 2020 to $1.6 trillion and are projected to increase to $2.3 trillion by 2027.1 Mr Dwyer joins the Msquared Capital Advisory Committee with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry across a variety of senior roles and responsibilities. He is currently Chair of NSW TCorp and Director of ASX-listed Iress. He is also a member of the ASIC Consultative Panel.

Mr Dwyer’s previous roles include Chief Executive of First State Super between 2004 and 2018, and Chairman of Australia for UNHCR, the private sector partner of the UN Refugee Agency. The private credit space presents significant opportunities and it’s encouraging to see Msquared Capital capitalise on this sector growth to deliver attractive risk-rated returns for their clients.” Mr Hickey is a Corporate Real Estate Lawyer with over 30 years’ experience specialising in corporate M&A transactions, equity capital markets and major real estate projects in Australia and internationally.

He was formerly Chairman of DWF, a leading global provider of integrated legal and business services. Msquared Capital Managing Director Paul Myliotis said: “Mark’s legal expertise across a variety of real estate projects both in Australia and internationally, will be instrumental as we continue to expand and diversify our offering.”
